Wrapfox

the boring (but honest) part

Privacy Policy

Effective July 24, 2026

The short version: your loved ones' data stays on your device.

We built Wrapfox so that we, the people who make it, can't see the names, photos, or exact dates of the people you care about. Everything below is detail; read as much of it as you like.

What stays on your device

The people you add, their special days, and any notes or photos you write live locally on your device and sync through your own private iCloud account, Apple's CloudKit private database. There's no separate Wrapfox server holding this information, and we have no way to read it, the same way we can't read what's in your Photos or Notes.

If you host an event through Wrapfox and invite guests, some of that event's details do reach our backend so your guests can see them. See “Events and Gift Registry” below for exactly what that covers.

AI gift suggestions

When you ask for a gift idea, Wrapfox sends a small, anonymized request to generate it, never a copy of your data. That request includes only an age range, a few interests, how close you are to the person, the occasion type, your budget, your region, and up to three wishlist categories. It never includes names, photos, or exact dates.

The request is handled by our backend (hosted on Supabase) and by Anthropic's Claude API, which writes the suggestion. None of it is used to train any AI model. A random identifier generated on your device, not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID, is used only to enforce a daily limit on how many suggestions you can request.

Your account (Sign in with Apple)

Signing in is optional. You only need it to invite friends, host an event with guests, or join someone else's event; everything else in Wrapfox works without ever signing in.

When you do sign in, Wrapfox uses Sign in with Apple. We store an account identifier that Apple gives us and the display name you choose to show friends and guests. Apple never shares your password with us, and Wrapfox does not require your email address at all.

Events and gift registry

When you host an event and invite guests, some information moves from your device to our backend (hosted on Supabase) so the people you invite can see it too: the event title and date, an optional location and note, the gift catalog you build, the guest list with each guest's RSVP, and which gifts have been claimed.

Hosts can see their full guest list and which gifts are claimed. Guests see the gift catalog and whether an item is already claimed; they don't see who claimed it unless it's their own claim.

Delete the event and everything tied to it (catalog, guest list, and claims) is deleted with it. Delete your account and everything you've stored on our servers is deleted too.

Optional social features

If you choose to sign in with Apple to use friends and shared wishlists, only what you decide to share is stored on our backend: your display name, your birthday (if you choose to show it), the occasions you've set up, and your wishlist. This is visible only to the friends you've approved, no one else. You can delete your account, and everything we hold about you on our servers, at any time from inside the app.

Children's profiles

Profiles you create for your kids, including their name, birthday, and interests, live only on your device and sync through your own private iCloud account, exactly like the rest of your Wrapfox data. They are never sent to Wrapfox's servers.

When you ask for a gift suggestion for a child's profile, the request we send includes only an anonymous age range and a few interests, never a name or a birthday.

Subscriptions

If you subscribe to Wrapfox, the purchase and all billing happen entirely through the App Store. Wrapfox never sees your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail.

Apple only shares your subscription status with us (active, which tier, and renewal state) so Wrapfox can unlock the features you paid for.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this website, your email address is stored in a private spreadsheet. We use it for exactly one thing: to let you know when Wrapfox launches. We don't sell it, share it, or use it for anything else. Ask, and we'll delete it.

Website

This website runs without ads, tracking cookies, or analytics. What you see on the page is what there is; we are not watching how you browse it.

Affiliate links

Some of the store links Wrapfox shows you (Trendyol, Hepsiburada, Amazon, and similar retailers) are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking through, we may earn a small commission. The store only sees that a click came from us; it doesn't see who the gift is for, what you wrote about them, or anything else happening inside Wrapfox.

Changes
